Designed by Elio Martinelli in 1987the lamp was created by the vacuum geenrated by a ring of nearly tangent circles, forming a canal that connects the two worlds: the old and the new millennium. A bit about the brand

Founded in 1950, Martinelli Luce has produced some of the most recognisable lamps in design history. The Pipistrello alone would secure their legacy, but they've continued collaborating with leading designers to create lighting that sits somewhere between functional necessity and sculptural art. Their collection includes iconic mid-century pieces that sit perfectly alongside contemporary architectural systems and outdoor lighting. The design pedigree offers fixtures that reference Italian modernism, geometric exploration and natural forms. Newer brands simply can't replicate this.
